Slitters/Injectors
Eco Slit Trailing Shoe Applicator
Greencrop have introduced a range of trailing shoe slurry applicators designed for use in either tanker mounted or umbilical systems. As farmers come under increasing pressure to avoid air pollution during slurry spreading a simple system has been devised to allow surface application of slurry without the cost, and increased power requirement of slurry injection.
The Ecoslit is designed to apply slurry below the leaf cover by separating the grass sward with a trailing shoe before applying the slurry to the soil under the sward. Placing the slurry below the leaf cover, and thus reducing leaf taint, allows grass to be grazed almost immediately after application.
Keeping weight to a minimum, whilst not compromising strength, allows the Ecoslit to be retro fitted to many existing tankers. A four point linkage kit is offered to allow simple mounting with the minimum of adaptation to the tanker. Various hydraulic control options are available to suit individual requirements.
The machine is available in widths from 3 metres to 12 metres, both in umbilical and tanker mounted, or as complete purpose built tanker units with electronic monitoring. Hydraulic folding is standard on all machines over 3m. As the soil engaging parts are not actually moving the soil wearing parts are kept to a minimum and so keeping operating cost low
The liquid to be applied is delivered to a hydraulic macerator which both chops and distributes liquid to each outlet keeping the delivery balanced across the width of the machine and reducing the risk of blockages in the delivery pipes.
- Reduced leaf taint – faster return to grazing
- Reduced ammonia leaching
- Reduced odour
- Reduced runoff
- Improved nutrient uptake as slurry is applied to soil rather than leaf
- Minimum soil disturbance leaves “clean” grassland
- Optional depth control wheels for simple operation
- Simple pressure adjustment via spring loading and hydraulics

ZB Grassland Injector
The ZB injector incorporates a pre- cutting disc to the range of trailing shoe machines to allow sub surface application of slurry to a depth of up to 100mm. The ZB is available in combination with the Peecon range of tankers, or as a independent unit for use with umbilical systems.
Farmers are coming under increasing pressure to better utilise the nitrogen value of their slurry, and to reduce air pollution during slurry spreading. Disc injection allows slurry to be placed below the soil surface, directly into the root zone of the crop, to ensure best possible uptake of available nutrients in the slurry.
Tanker mounted units are supplied with a four point linkage kit to allow simple mounting with the minimum of adaptation to the tanker. Various hydraulic control options are available to suit individual requirements.
The machine is available in widths from 2.75 metres to 7 metres, both in umbilical and tanker mounted, or as complete purpose built tanker units with electronic monitoring. Hydraulic folding is standard on all machines over 3m.
The liquid to be applied is delivered to a hydraulic macerator which both chops and distributes liquid to each outlet keeping the delivery balanced across the width of the machine and reducing the risk of blockages in the delivery pipes.

Greencrop can also supply full flow monitoring, and application monitoring systems, including GPS linked field mapping and application recording to give full historical records for NVZ area applications.
